About Edward
My Name is Edward and I Love creating with words and music and inspiring others to do the same. I believe that music touches people in a way that nothing else can and I hope to teach my students how to do just that.
I've had the opportunity to direct choirs for my church music programs and it was one of the few places where I was in my element. Watching people who little knowledge about music and taking an idea and making into a masterpiece that grabs people hearts and inspires them is something that brings me joy that not much else can. I'll bring that same energy into our lessons.
As a songwriter and musician, I am dedicated to presenting the best possible product so if you choose me as your teacher, be prepared to be held to a standard. However, I am understanding and patient and will work with you. I will do my very to ensure that you understand the material. I may be dedicated to excellence but I'm also dedicated to your success.
I hope that I'm able to work with you and Impart some of my wonder for creation and heart of excellence into you as a budding musician.

As student I learned the fundamentals of Music Theory and used that to learn the 3 instruments I play. As A Teacher I'll use the same method
With all my students I will begin by doing an overview of the Anatomy of a piano as well as the major scale and its scale degrees and chords. From there, we'll work on proper finger technique and application.
My lessons will teach you how to identify chords and melodies by ear because I believer you are more versatile when you can play by ear. However, by request I will teach you the fundamentals of notating music as well.
As you develop the fundamentals I'll incorporate them into songs that you like and song creation.
My lesson are for beginners who wish to learn to play by ear to develop another skill.
