About Maia
I was born in the frontier of Mexico, where the homeland begins, Tijuana Baja California, and part of that context is understanding the cultural diversity of my city and the English language as a bridge to understand each other, I have been taking English classes since I was 5 years old and have certified my English level with the TOEFL exam. I have also had experience tutoring children and elderly people, and I have a more sensible and soft approach towards teaching as well as learning. This class could help you if that is your cup of tea!

I´m open to teach any age group because it´s never too late to learn something new! Being a psychology major has taught me different approaches to learning, Lesson plan starts with basic pronunciation, grammar, functional phrases and learning to interact little by little, I include cultural appreciation of Mexico which is where I´m from, and a historical perspective on the origins of the language and how to more easily understand word meanings as well as idioms.
