About Shaurya
Hi, I'm Shaurya Rawat, a university student with a genuine passion for the English language, both as a subject I've excelled in academically and as a craft I practice through poetry. I scored exceptionally well in my English board exams, which gives me a clear, practical understanding of what it takes to succeed in exams and build strong language fundamentals. Beyond academics, writing poetry has given me a deeper appreciation for how language works, and I bring that same care and attention to detail into every lesson I teach.
I'm also a chronic music enthusiast and a big movie buff, and honestly, these passions blend well with teaching English. Song lyrics, film dialogue, and storytelling are all great tools I love using to make lessons feel more relatable and engaging rather than purely textbook-driven.
I approach tutoring with patience, structure, and genuine enthusiasm for helping students improve, whether that means untangling grammar, building confidence in writing, or simply making English feel less intimidating and more enjoyable. My goal is for every student to leave each session having understood something a little better than before, and to feel supported throughout the process. I look forward to working with you and helping you reach your goals in English!

My teaching approach:
I believe English is best learned when it feels alive, not just memorized. My teaching combines structured fundamentals with creative engagement, since I'm a poet myself, I naturally weave in exercises around rhythm, word choice, and expression, which helps even grammar and comprehension feel less mechanical. I focus on identifying each student's specific gaps (spelling, grammar, comprehension, writing structure) and building a plan around them rather than using a one-size-fits-all method.
Structure of a class:
Each session typically starts with a quick check-in on what the student is currently struggling with or wants to focus on. We then spend the bulk of the class working through targeted exercises: this could be grammar drills, comprehension passages, essay/writing practice, or literature analysis, depending on the goal. I like to end each session with a short recap and a small, manageable task to practice before the next class, so progress compounds over time rather than resetting each week.

I write my own poetry, which brings genuine creative insight into teaching writing, expression, and literary appreciation, not just textbook rules
