About Amelia
My passion lies in supporting young children as they grow and learn with the guidance of caring and dedicated educators. As a Diploma holder in Early Childhood Development and Education, I am familiar with engaging, play-based and structured approaches to support each child’s individual learning needs. I am more than happy to help build your child's confidence while making learning enjoyable and meaningful.
Similarly to my own educational journey, I put my full effort into teaching and hope to be a supportive bridge between your child and their bright future.

In a 1 hour lesson, your child will be able to start their journey of improvement in their reading and writing skills and/or further hone their Mathematical skills alongside a friendly and reliable tutor.
*Tutoring Approach & Lesson Structure*
My approach to tutoring is centered on building confidence and closing learning gaps. I believe that every child can improve with the right support and consistent encouragement.
I begin by getting to know your child. I will start by identifying the student’s current level and any *learning gaps* in key areas such as reading comprehension, writing, spelling, or mathematical concepts. From there, I plan targeted lessons that gradually build their understanding step by step.
For *English*, I use a combination of:
• *Reading and analyzing mentor texts* to expose students to strong examples of writing
• Explicit teaching of skills such as vocabulary, sentence structure, and comprehension strategies
• Guided writing activities to help students apply what they have learned
For *Mathematics*, I focus on:
• Strengthening foundational skills (e.g. number sense, operations)
• Breaking down concepts into clear, manageable steps
• Using worked examples and guided practice to build confidence
A key part of my teaching approach is the *“I Do – We Do – You Do” model*:
• *I Do:* I demonstrate the skill clearly by modeling how to think through the task
• *We Do:* We practice together, with support and guidance
• *You Do:* The student independently applies the skill to build confidence and mastery
