About Vara
I’m a passionate singing tutor with over 7 years of experience and a Bachelor of Arts in Ethnomusicology, focusing on vocal traditions. I love exploring the art of vocal arrangement, harmony stacking, and creating lush textures that bring songs to life, whether for group singing or multi-tracked recordings.
I specialize in teaching a wide variety of styles, including A Cappella, Pop, Gospel, and R&B. Lessons focus on vocal blending, counter-melodies, arranging techniques, and production, helping you develop both technical skill and creative expression.
I work with school students, college learners, and aspiring professionals, tailoring lessons to fit each student’s goals and abilities. Improvisation, composition, and music history are key parts of my teaching, giving context and depth to every practice session.
I also incorporate music technology into lessons, helping you understand recording, layering, and producing harmonies in modern contexts. You’ll learn to craft beautiful vocal textures and explore your unique voice within a group or solo setting.
My approach is supportive, hands-on, and designed to inspire creativity while building strong vocal skills. Every session is an opportunity to experiment, learn, and grow as a singer.
Whether you’re arranging harmonies for a choir, recording layered vocals, or simply exploring your voice, my goal is to help you feel confident and expressive.

My teaching approach focuses on building a strong, healthy voice from the ground up. Lessons emphasize foundational techniques that improve breath control, diaphragmatic support, and vocal stamina. You will learn how to sing longer and with more strength without strain.
I include exercises designed to maintain vocal health and prevent fatigue. These routines help you perform consistently, whether in practice or on stage. Strong technique supports both confidence and endurance.
I work closely with students like Suzuki learners and orchestra singers, tailoring exercises to their unique needs. We focus on stability, tone, and control to help you excel in ensemble or solo settings.
Breath management is a core part of every session. You’ll practice strategies that improve phrasing, projection, and overall vocal power. Stamina builds gradually and safely.
I also teach posture, warm-ups, and vocal care habits that protect your voice long-term. Healthy technique ensures consistent improvement and prevents injury.
Lessons are interactive, supportive, and paced for your growth. You’ll gain skills you can immediately apply in rehearsals, performances, or recordings.
Together, we’ll strengthen your voice, expand your range, and build the confidence to sing with both power and ease.
