About Carmen

Do you find yourself wondering why singing feels like a chore instead of a natural expression? I teach from a place of 13 years of gigging across Melbourne as a singer-guitarist. My work at the Australian Institute of Music gave me the structure, but the stage taught me how to actually communicate.

I currently guide absolute beginners through their first notes and help advanced learners refine their craft. It is a messy, beautiful process that usually involves a lot of trial and error.

I enjoy keeping things light while we focus on the technical side of vocal health. My students range from those just starting out to intermediate artists writing their own material.

You will find that I prioritize genuine delivery over empty perfection every single time. My BM Contemporary Music degree informs how I break down complex vocal mechanics. We keep the vibe casual, even when we are dealing with difficult anatomy.

About the lesson

Throats get tight and breathing patterns fail when you stop treating singing as a physical act. Vocal delivery is movement.

We focus on breathing control and diction to ensure you are not straining your instrument during performance. My lessons at the Australian Institute of Music taught me that rhythm and phrasing are just as important as pitch accuracy.

I will construct a personalized song list built around your specific range to keep you engaged. We track your progress through exam preparation and microphone technique to build your confidence for the stage.

Beginners learn the basics of vocal care while advanced students tackle complex vibrato control. You walk away knowing exactly how to handle your voice in any setting. Success is inevitable when you understand the mechanics.
