About Maia
Hi! I’m a guitar tutor with 4 years of teaching experience and a Bachelor of Music in World Music focused on Guitar Traditions. My musical journey blends academic study with performance experience in metal, shred, and progressive rock. These genres demand both precision and creativity. I enjoy helping students master them.
Lessons emphasize strong technique. Students practice alternate picking, sweep picking, tapping, and legato phrasing. Skills develop step by step.
I work with both young learners and adult students. Everyone has different musical goals. Lessons adapt to each student’s needs.
Some want to develop rhythm guitar skills. Others want to play fast solos. Music theory supports everything we practice. Students learn scales and phrasing across the fretboard. Practice becomes structured and rewarding. Confidence grows with consistent effort. Together we build fast, precise, and expressive guitar skills.

I provide warm, interactive guitar lessons focused on fingerstyle, classical repertoire, and solo arrangements. Students develop advanced picking techniques, read sheet music, and arrange their own pieces. Lessons emphasize musicality, precision, and personal expression.
I use visual demonstrations, slow-practice strategies, and step-by-step guidance to ensure understanding. Fingerstyle phrasing, dynamics, and tonal nuance are explored carefully. Students gain confidence performing and arranging music for guitar.
Some learners are motivated by recording and performance, while others are returning to guitar later in life. I support both by tracking progress and refining skills. Lessons balance technical mastery, creativity, and musical interpretation.
Together, we uncover the artistry and subtlety of fingerstyle guitar. Each lesson builds skill, expression, and musical confidence. Students leave inspired and empowered to play with heart.
