About Tessa
With over 6 years of experience and a Graduate Diploma in Piano Pedagogy, I specialise in helping students combine technical skill with expressive musicality. I love guiding learners to connect deeply with the music they play. My lessons emphasise pedal technique, dynamic control, phrasing, and nuanced expression. Students are encouraged to interpret music thoughtfully and bring emotion to every performance. Healthy technique is a priority to ensure long-term progress. Lessons are tailored to individual goals, including exams, recitals, or personal enrichment. Improvisation and creative exploration are encouraged to cultivate artistry. I take a hands-on, personalised approach to teaching piano. My students include those preparing for church worship, theatre accompaniment, and professional wedding bands. Each lesson is tailored to individual goals and skill levels. I teach sight-reading, chord work, and improvisation for real-world performance scenarios. Technique, expression, and timing are emphasised in all exercises. I incorporate performance practice to build confidence and fluency.
