About Samantha
I am a dedicated violin tutor with 5 years of teaching and professional music experience, passionate about helping students achieve technical mastery, musical expression, and self-confidence. I teach school and college students at all levels, from beginners learning their first notes to advanced learners preparing for recitals, exams, and competitions.
One of the most meaningful milestones in my career has been guiding students from struggling with posture, bowing, or rhythm to performers capable of playing with skill, emotion, and expressive interpretation.
My teaching emphasises strong technical foundations, including posture, finger placement, bowing technique, rhythm, tone, and intonation, while also fostering creativity, musical interpretation, and expressive playing. I integrate music theory, sight-reading, listening exercises, and performance practice to provide students with a complete musical education.
Lessons are tailored to each student’s pace, learning style, and goals, creating a supportive, patient, and inspiring environment where students are encouraged to explore, express themselves, and reach their full potential. Teaching violin allows me to cultivate confidence, discipline, and a lifelong passion for music.

I teach violin with a methodology centred on motivation, communication, creativity, and integrity, designed to cultivate technically skilled, expressive, and confident musicians. Each lesson is personalised to the student’s abilities, goals, and learning style, combining structured exercises, creative exploration, improvisation, and performance preparation.
Motivation is the core of my teaching. I help students define achievable goals, monitor progress, and celebrate milestones, fostering perseverance, self-confidence, and enthusiasm for learning. Students learn to embrace challenges and turn mistakes into opportunities for growth, developing resilience and determination.
Communication ensures lessons are interactive, collaborative, and supportive. Students can freely express questions, share challenges, and explore musical ideas, building trust and engagement in the learning process.
Creativity is emphasised through improvisation, composition, and interpretation exercises. Students develop a personal artistic voice, emotional expression, and a connection to music that goes beyond technical skill. Integrity reinforces disciplined, responsible practice and respect for learning, cultivating habits that ensure long-term excellence.
Alongside violin, I teach music theory, sight-reading, ear training, rhythm exercises, and basic piano, providing a holistic approach that develops both technical and artistic skills.
