About Josh
I completed a Master’s in Social Research at The University of Sheffield in 2018, where I trained in qualitative and quantitative methods and learned how to design and deliver effective research projects. After graduating, I spent several years teaching and supporting students overseas, which helped me build strong communication skills and a patient, student-centered approach.
Now based in Australia, I’m looking to use my research background in a practical way through part-time tutoring. I take a calm and supportive approach, helping students understand research design, data analysis and critical thinking in a clear and down-to-earth way.

I take a practical and supportive approach to tutoring, helping students break down complex ideas and apply them to real research tasks. Lessons usually include a mix of explanation, examples and hands-on activities, whether that’s refining a research question, interpreting data or improving academic writing.
I hold a Master’s in Social Research from The University of Sheffield, where I trained in both qualitative and quantitative methods and developed experience designing and delivering research projects. My lessons are aimed at university students, early career researchers or anyone wanting to build confidence in research design, critical thinking and data interpretation.
I’m patient, approachable and focused on making research methods feel understandable, relevant and even enjoyable.
