About Sanjana

As a Software Developer with experience in both technology and tutoring, I bring a structured and practical approach to teaching. I have home-tutored 10+ students, with all my students scoring above 90% in Math. I’m patient, approachable, and committed to helping every student understand concepts clearly and build confidence.

About the lesson

Each class is a structured 1-hour session.

1. I spend the first 10 minutes revising the previous class through a short quiz and a few questions. This helps me check the student's understanding and identify any concepts that need more attention.

2. The next 15–30 minutes are dedicated to learning a new topic. I explain the concept step-by-step, starting with the basics and gradually moving towards more challenging applications. I use simple examples and relate concepts to situations students can easily understand.

3. The remaining time is focused on problem-solving, where the student gets to apply what they have learned. I guide them when needed rather than immediately giving them the answer.

For example, while teaching percentages, I would not begin by simply giving the percentage formula. I might start with a real-life situation such as a ₹1,000 item being offered at a 20% discount. I would ask the student to think about what 20% actually means and how much they would save. Once they understand the idea, I introduce the formula and then gradually move to different types of questions, such as successive discounts, percentage increase and decrease, and reverse-percentage problems.

My classes are primarily intended for students in Classes 8–10. I adapt my pace, explanations and level of practice according to each student's strengths and areas that need improvement. My goal is to build strong fundamentals, improve problem-solving ability, and help students become confident and independent in Maths.
