About Brandon
I've been programming since I was very young and have always marveled at how easy it can be to create amazing things through code! Throughout that marveling, however, I also been very familiar with the ever so frustrating experience of not understanding something and finding no clear help from the plethora of tutorials online. Even through college I discovered the truth that being a good programmer did not automatically make you a good teacher. And I also saw in myself a desire and passion to teach complex concepts in a way that even the most inexperienced could understand.
Now that I stand on the other end of a CS degree, various TA and tutoring jobs, and 5 years of industry experience, that desire has not gone away. I am confident that everyone is capable of comprehending even the most complex topics, especially if they have the right guide. I am determined to continue to hone my ability to guide others, on individualized tracks, to become expert programmers.

I have specific expertise in web development, JavaScript, PHP, C++, C#, and Python, but rather than simply teaching the base syntax of a language, I aim to teach principles and standard practices that can apply to any language or framework.
I love meeting a student at whatever level they're at, understanding their specific goals for learning programming, and forming the lessons around that that make the most sense to them. I am passionate about ensuring a student reaches true understanding that goes beyond surface-level comprehension or copy-and-pasted solutions from a tutorial (we've all been there).
With a bachelor's degree in CS, 5+ years of industry experience as a full-stack developer, and countless personal projects, from websites to games, I am capable of teaching students at a wide range of experience, from absolute beginners to college or industry level programming. While I have a particular love for helping those just getting their feet wet with software development, I am happy to help you wherever you're at!
