About Michael

Hello! My name’s Michael. I’m a Software Engineer and I have 4 years of professional experience, and many more of personal experience, in languages such as Python, C# with Unity, Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, CSS for web development, and SQL for databases. I have a deep understanding of core computer science concepts, and I’d love to share them to you.

I graduated from UC Berkeley with a Bachelor’s in Cognitive Science and a minor in Computer Science. I had the pleasure of studying data structures, computer architecture, databases, AI, data science, and user interface design at one of the top engineering schools in the US.

I’m really excited to share my knowledge and passion for computer science with you. To me, what’s special about tutoring is that I have an opportunity to connect one-on-one with you, cater to your needs, and introduce topics in a way that resonates with you individually. My goal is to make an environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and exploring their full potential.

Perfect! i came to Michael with a very confusing last minute project that had to be solved in a very odd and specific way. He not only navigated the project's needs but helped explain the processes and the syntax to a python newbie like myself. Highly recommend.

I have been patiently instructed by Michael for many years. He is VERY smart but keeps things simple and easy to understand. I know he's always focused on having me understand things at the level that is required. Sometimes that means digging into why things need to be understood in a certain way and other times we can skip that. I wish all the teachers I've had in the past took this approach. Highly highly recommended!
