About Elias
I'm a software engineer in the finance industry building financial risk systems in C#/.NET, and I've tutored Computer Science for three years because I want students to learn programming the way professionals actually work – not just memorise syntax for exams.
I transitioned into software engineering through intensive retraining after working in marketing, so I understand what it takes to master technical concepts from scratch.
That experience shapes how I teach: I break down complex ideas into first principles, anticipate where students will struggle, and build genuine problem-solving ability rather than surface-level exam tricks.
I teach because helping someone achieve clarity on a difficult concept is deeply satisfying, and because Computer Science education often fails students by prioritising rote learning over computational thinking. My students don't just pass exams – they leave with skills that matter beyond the classroom.

I teach Computer Science through practical problem-solving, not passive learning. Students code from lesson one – building projects that reinforce exam theory.
My method: Socratic questioning to develop independent thinking, spaced repetition for retention, and exam technique drilled until automatic. I focus on computational thinking and algorithmic reasoning that transfers beyond exams.
Lessons are 60 minutes, structured as: concept introduction, worked examples, guided practice, then independent problem-solving.
I teach GCSE and A-Level (AQA, OCR, Edexcel), covering Python, C#, and NEA project supervision. Three years tutoring experience with 25+ students achieving Grade 7-9 outcomes.
I'm a working software engineer in the finance industry, so I teach real-world applications alongside curriculum requirements. Students gain exam success and genuine programming competency.
