About Maggie
I'm a Pre-Med sophomore in university. I have a GPA of 3.75 and I'm on the Dean's List. My hobbies include travelling, reading, golfing, painting, and spending time with the people I'm close to. I'm a member of Phi Eta Sigma, the oldest and largest honor society in the States. My favorite class to learn is Chemistry but, for teaching, I don't really have a favorite per say. I am very grateful for my education, as it allows me to pursue my dreams and ambitions, and is a fundamental part of who I am. I am very patient, and I understand first-hand how difficult it is to not understand a subject after working at it for hours on end.

It's nice to meet you! Education has always been a big part of my life, and I understand how incredibly frustrating it is to struggle learning a topic. For about two years, I tutored English online with a woman living in Ukraine. I additionally spent about a month volunteering teaching English and basic maths in a nursery in Tanzania. I also contributed to the construction of a school there. I love to learn, and I hope to help my students also love learning!
What helps me learn is active recall, and so that will be a large part of our lesson (i.e. asking you questions and we'll try to figure it out together). For example, I'll guide you through the first couple of questions and then for the next set of similar problems, I'll encourage you to do most of the work but I'll be more on the sidelines. That being said, I'll still be very present and looking for mistakes, and I'll correct you if I see any being made. And, of course, you can ask as many questions and clarifications as you want!
If you have a learning style that you know works best for you (i.e. if you're a visual learner, if you like examples, etc.), you can tell me you're preferences and I would love to include them in our lessons.
In my freshman year at university I scored: an A in General Chemistry I, General Chemistry II, Calculus I, Cell/Molecular Biology, Spanish I, Global Cities: Issues with Planning/Development; and a B in College Algebra and Genetics. On the A.P. English Literature and Composition Exam, I scored a 4. I took French for five years (French I, II, III, IV, and A.P. French), and scored an A in every class.
I can teach elementary, middle, high school, and freshman undergraduate students. If you could tell me before our lesson what you would like to go over, I can find some resources to help teach you. I hope to see you soon!
