About Maria
I am a 21-year-old student at the Carlos III University of Madrid, Spain, and I am studying a double Bachelors degree in Law and International Studies. I am currently in Santiago as an exchange student, and teaching these classes seems like a good opportunity to meet people from Chile.
Last year I studied at the University of California, Berkeley, and what I missed the most at the beginning was having practiced my English in a more practical way throughout my life, instead of so much theory and grammar. That is why I would like to help others in this regard.

I like to teach in a dynamic way, in which both teacher and student enjoy. My main goal is to be useful for the student. Therefore, my methodology consists of:
(1) First part: conversation with the student. Colloquial and more informal vocabulary about everyday life, hobbies, etc.
(2) Second part: debates on current affairs. Each class will discuss current issues, following a news extracted from english newspapers. Technical and formal vocabulary. The student will know the subject in advance so he/she will be able to prepare the class.
(3) Third part:
a. Optional: particular requests. It can include grammar, preparation for an official exam (IELTS or Cambridge Certificate), or help with any question that the student requires.
b. We will work on writing and listening skills by analyzing English-speaking songs and writing exercises (cover letters, e-mails, essays, etc.).
Spanish will not be spoken under any circumstances during the entire class.
