About Robi

Planning a trip to Italy? Have Italian family roots and understand more than you can speak? Or have you studied Italian but still feel stuck when it’s time to have a real conversation?

I’m Roberta, a native Italian tutor with 20+ years of international teaching experience. I help students speak naturally and confidently through real conversation, culture, music, films and stories: not endless grammar drills!

My lessons are creative, relaxed and created for you, whether you’re preparing for your first trip to Italy, returning again and again, reconnecting with your Italian roots, or simply wanting to finally feel comfortable speaking Italian or discover secrets of my country that just an Italian girl can teach you ;)

We’ll use Italian from the very first lesson, at a pace that makes you feel challenged but never overwhelmed. Ti aspetto :)

About the lesson

My lessons are built around one goal: helping you actually use Italian.

We’ll focus on speaking and listening through real-life conversations, travel situations, music, podcasts, films, videos and topics you genuinely enjoy.

You won’t spend the whole lesson doing grammar exercises. Instead, you’ll learn the grammar and vocabulary you need while communicating.

• Italian heritage speakers who understand Italian but struggle to speak
• returning travellers who want to go beyond tourist Italian

Classes with Roby are great, fun and dynamic. Roby is very respectful and patient. It always has different proposals that encourage you to speak Italian and, "without realizing it" you start learning grammar. It is a big difference to study with an Italian because you will get in touch with the culture of the country quickly. When and why did you develop an interest in your chosen field?
I developed an interest in languages very early in my life. I’ve always been fascinated by how language creates connection, identity and belonging.
Italian has never been just a subject for me, but a living language made of sounds, rhythm, stories and emotions.

Living in different countries helped me understand that we learn a language naturally through listening, immersion and real use. This awareness shaped my teaching approach over the years.
What makes you passionate about your subject?
Italian is a language that needs to be felt as much as understood. Its musicality, emotional depth and connection to real life are what make it so special.

I’m passionate about helping students move away from fear and overthinking, and discover a more natural, confident and joyful way of using the language.
What do you like about tutoring? What makes you a “Superprof”?
I love tutoring because it’s a human and creative exchange.
As a performer, I see each lesson as a participatory and creative act, co-created together with the student. No two lessons are ever the same.

I work with the Natural Method, giving great importance to active listening, immersion and meaningful communication. From the very first lesson, students receive tools to start incorporating Italian naturally into their daily life.

Lessons are built around authentic materials — music, films, podcasts, videos and real-life dialogues — carefully selected or created according to each student’s interests. When learning feels personal and engaging, curiosity and motivation arise naturally.

I’ve been inspired by teachers who made learning feel human, alive and accessible.
Teachers who listened, trusted the process and allowed space for experimentation and mistakes.
