About Meghan
Hi! My name is Meghan and I am a dedicated educator with a Master’s degree in Special Education (Multi-Categorical with an Autism focus) and experience teaching both elementary special education (K–5) and high school sciences, including Chemistry, Earth & Space Science, and Forensics.
Teaching is more than a profession for me — it is a commitment to helping students recognize their strengths and build confidence in their abilities. I am especially passionate about supporting diverse learners and creating structured, supportive environments where every student can succeed.
My classroom experience has taught me that no two learners are the same. I pride myself on being patient, adaptable, and intentional in my instruction. Whether I am working with a student who needs additional academic support or a high school student preparing for a science exam, I focus on clarity, encouragement, and steady progress.
I believe learning should feel achievable. My goal is to help students not only improve academically but also develop independence, confidence, and a positive mindset toward learning.

As a Master’s-level Special Education teacher with classroom experience in K–5 special education and high school sciences, my approach is rooted in individualized instruction, structure, and encouragement. I believe every student can succeed when lessons are tailored to their unique learning style, strengths, and needs.
I use evidence-based strategies commonly implemented in special education classrooms, including:
-Differentiated instruction to meet students at their current level
-Scaffolded learning to build confidence step-by-step
-Visual supports and graphic organizers
-Multi-sensory teaching methods
-Explicit instruction with guided practice
-Positive reinforcement and growth mindset strategies
A typical session includes:
-Brief review of previously learned material
-Clear explanation and modeling of new concepts
-Guided practice with support
-Independent practice to assess understanding
-Review and feedback
-Study strategies or skill-building (organization, test prep, etc., if needed)
For high school science students, lessons may include concept breakdowns, vocabulary reinforcement, lab support, test preparation, and real-world applications to make content engaging and easier to understand.
What Sets Me Apart:
-Master’s degree in Special Education (Multi-Categorical with Autism focus)
-Certification in SPED - Multi-cat with Autism (K-AD), General Sciences (05-AD), & Chemistry (09-AD)
-Experience supporting diverse learners in both elementary and high school settings
-Strong background in Chemistry, Earth & Space Science, and Forensics
-Patience, flexibility, and ability to adapt lessons in real time
-Experience working with IEP goals and individualized learning plans
I understand how to teach content AND how to teach students how to learn.
Who My Lessons Are For - I work with:
-K–5 students needing academic support in reading, math, or executive functioning
-Students with IEPs or learning differences, including Autism
-High school students taking Chemistry, Earth & Space Science, or Forensics
-Students who need structured support, test preparation, or confidence-building
My goal is not just improving grades, but building independent, confident learners.
