About Devika

Music has always been much more than just a subject to me — I’m a little bit of a maniac when it comes to music! I write songs, perform, feel music deeply, and truly believe that art is something that exists within all of us.

I want to share what I’ve learned because I believe art grows when it is shared. Sometimes, all a person needs is the right teacher, the right encouragement, and someone who believes in them. I know this personally because I’ve also had teachers who made me doubt my own abilities and put my confidence down. That experience taught me exactly the kind of teacher I want to be.

I don’t believe anyone is “bad at singing.” You may struggle with Shruthi today, find Tala confusing, or feel uncomfortable using your voice — but these are skills that can be learned and improved with the right guidance and practice.

No matter where you are in your musical journey, I want my classes to be a space where you feel comfortable experimenting, making mistakes, improving, and eventually surprising yourself.

There are so many people who have music inside them and simply haven’t discovered it yet. If I can give you that little push, help you find your confidence, and make you realize “Hey, I can actually do this!” — that’s exactly why I want to teach. ️

About the lesson

I truly believe anyone can sing!

You don’t need to be born with a “singing voice” to learn music. If you love music, you already have the most important thing — the interest to learn. With the right guidance and practice, anyone can develop a good grip on Shruthi, Laya and Tala — the three foundations that bring music together.

My approach is simple: I want you to understand music, not just repeat what I sing. I make learning comfortable, encouraging and enjoyable, while helping you build confidence in your own voice.

With 13 years of Carnatic music training and experience performing with bands, instrumentalists and choir groups, I’ve also had the opportunity to work with and guide different kinds of singers and musicians.

Whether you’re a complete beginner or already learning music, I’ll help you find your rhythm, understand your voice and most importantly, enjoy singing!
