About Sarah
Hello! My name is Sarah. I know firsthand what it’s like to face learning disabilities, and I’m passionate about helping kids overcome similar challenges. My goal is to create a supportive and patient environment where every student can build confidence and succeed. I’m currently a college student and plan to become a speech therapist in the future. Teaching Method and Techniques:
My approach as a tutor is student-centered and adaptable. I believe in meeting students where they are and building a supportive, encouraging environment. I use a mix of interactive activities, real-world examples, and step-by-step explanations to make reading, English, and math both accessible and engaging. I regularly check for understanding and adjust my teaching style to fit each student’s learning preferences, whether they’re visual, auditory, or hands-on learners.
A Typical Lesson Plan:
A typical lesson begins with a brief review of previous material to reinforce learning and boost confidence. Next, I introduce new concepts using clear explanations and examples. We then work through practice problems or reading passages together, allowing the student to ask questions and try out strategies. I end each session with a quick recap and set small, achievable goals for the next lesson. I also provide tips and resources for independent practice.

As a current college student, I understand the challenges students face and can relate to their experiences. I’m committed to creating a positive, judgment-free space where students feel comfortable making mistakes and asking questions.
