About Arnav
I have always loved teaching! came first for me. I've been doing tutoring since high school, tutoring calculus and physics for free after school, because I liked seeing something click for someone.
I'm a Stanford grad with an engineering background, and I've spent three years as a teaching assistant for Stanford's intro computer science courses, leading sections, grading, and holding one-on-one check-ins with students. And now I currently teach 6th and 8th grade math weekly at Marina Middle School in SF.
Outside of tutoring, I live in Hayes Valley, play drums in a band, and play basketball in my free time. If you're looking for someone experienced and easy to work with, happy to chat!

Lessons start with what's actually giving you trouble, not just what unit you're on, since those aren't always the same thing. We work through it together, then you take a shot on your own while I watch for where it breaks down. Getting it wrong is usually the useful part.
I teach all math levels, K-12, from basic arithmetic through AP Calculus, and I'm comfortable and experienced working with students who have special needs. Whether you're behind, ahead, bored, or just need someone to explain it differently than your teacher did, that's the kind of problem I like working on.
