About Michael
Engineering foundations trip up a lot of capable students so I focus on the basics. I hold an MEng degree from Stanford University and have 13 years of experience.
Working with mechanical engineering students, hobbyist makers, product design students, career switchers, and university students has refined my approach. I teach SolidWorks by connecting the math to the physical intuition behind it. My instruction covers 3D modeling workflow, sheet metal design, surface modeling, sketch fundamentals, assembly design, design for manufacturing, and extrude and revolve features. It is quite rewarding to watch a complex concept finally click for someone.
Solving technical problems with clear logic is where I find the most satisfaction. The process of building something tangible remains a highlight of my day.

You will start by tackling a guided modelling project that anchors your technical growth. These sessions utilize 13 years of design experience to break down GD&T basics and complex assembly design. Mechanical engineering students and hobbyists often find that structured practice leads to better retention. You will move through sketch fundamentals and surface modelling at a pace that ensures deep understanding.
I prioritize design for manufacturing because it mimics real professional workflows. Each project ensures you gain fluency in extrude and revolve features while maintaining high standards. My goal is to ensure you navigate the software with total confidence. I look forward to seeing your technical proficiency increase during our time together.
