I started my career in teaching after completing a PGCE and a 1st class degree in Childhood and Youth studies. Specialising in early years education, I gained valuable experience of working with young children in both Nursery and Reception classes. Resulting in a deep and thorough understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage.
During my time as a class teacher, I was responsible for the teaching, learning and progression of the children within my class. As well as being responsible for the assessment of children within my class and leading from this, their next steps and planning for interventions in order for children to meet particular targets.
I have taught across all 7 areas of the EYFS and have particular strengths in the teaching of phonics and early mathematics.
