About Deena
I have over 5 years of experience working with students of various ages, backgrounds and learning capabilities.
I work as a specialized educator certified with the Orton-Gillingham approach; working with students in Kindergarten through University with Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, Dyslexia and other cognitive capabilities in components of language & math.
I also tutor a range of STEM subjects, including math (algebra, calculus, physics), science (biology, chemistry, anatomy) , social studies, english & psychology.
Each individual has a unique learning style, and I value creating a specialized learning plan for each student, and use a teaching approach that is tailored to the individual.

Hello! My name is Deena and I graduated from UBC with a BSc in Psychology and Biology. I also studied medical biochemistry for a couple years, and have extensive knowledge on a range of subjects including Maths, Calculus, Physics, Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Biology, Psychology. I have a passion for education with years of teaching students with various backgrounds and cognitive capabilities.
I teach students from Elementary up to High School and first year University.
My goal is to create a positive and engaging learning environment that allows for optimal understanding and application of concepts. This is accomplished by using a teaching approach that is uniquely tailored to each individual.
