About Chris

My name is Chris and I have been tutoring since I was 17 because it is something that I enjoy. Bringing someone to the point where they "discover" how to do something new is always a rush. I have been fortunate to help a lot of students over the years take those steps, when they do they don't forget because they discovered it. Personally I have tutored off and on more than 10 years, and attended college myself for double bachelor's (math and physics), master's (physics), and PhD work for about 13 years. I look forward to hearing from you.

About the lesson

Hi: Most of my past students have struggled with a few areas, concepts, not answering what was asked, and trying to memorize how to solve problems (which doesn't work usually with math and physics). I have solutions for you for each of these problems, habits you can build up that will get you better grades, and the ability to explain what seems hard with simple ideas. I even have a secret method for studying that will let you study longer and retain more! So how did I learn all that? A few ways, when I was teaching college I watched what the best students were doing. I tutored students from high school on, 10+ years, and I studied how to study! (cognitive psychology) Then I developed and tested methods with myself first and then passed them to my students. I also studied a lot as well :) I received double bachelor's in Math and Physics, a master in Physics with a focus in Optics, and then did my PhD work in biophysics. If you are motivated to do better I am here to help.
