About Zofia

English is my second language, so I know first-hand what it feels like to understand English but still translate everything in your head before speaking. One of my main goals is to help you get past that stage and develop the intuition to understand, formulate and respond in English naturally and without hesitation.

I have an English-taught Master's degree in Politics and International Relations from the University of Amsterdam and have passed the IELTS exam twice at C2 level. I also spent 7 years working in an English-speaking corporate professional environment, where English was my everyday working language.

I now live in London, and English is the language I use every day — at work and socially, as well as for reading, films, news and other media.

Because I've learnt English myself rather than growing up with it, I understand many of the difficulties that advanced learners face: knowing the grammar but not using it intuitively, having the vocabulary but struggling to find the right expression quickly, or sounding technically correct but not quite natural.

My aim is to help you make the transition from knowing English to actually thinking and communicating in English.

About the lesson

My lessons are designed for learners who already have a good foundation in English but want to use it more naturally, confidently and intuitively.

Depending on your goals, we can focus on:
Natural, intuitive English — conversation, phrasing, common expressions and learning what "sounds right".
Vocabulary development — expanding your vocabulary beyond everyday English, including professional, academic or industry-specific language.
Professional English — meetings, workplace communication, interviews, presentations and expressing yourself confidently at work.
Conversation — interesting discussions based on your interests rather than generic textbook topics.
Exam preparation — I can help you practise and improve the English needed for school exams, IELTS and other exams.
Personalised homework — exercises, vocabulary and materials based on what you actually need and want to improve.

Lessons are fully in English, with the aim of gradually making English feel like a language you use rather than a language you constantly translate.

I'll adapt each lesson to your level, goals, interests and weaknesses, and we'll adjust the approach as you progress.

Lessons are 60 minutes, although we can discuss a longer duration if needed.

Ideal for: teenagers and adults at approximately B1–C1 level, particularly those who want to improve conversational fluency, professional English, vocabulary or confidence.
