I approach tutoring with the goal of building deep, lasting understanding rather than surface-level memorization. I focus on guiding students to develop confidence in problem-solving and critical thinking, especially in subjects that often feel intimidating, like math and physics.
Typical Lesson Plan:
1) Warm-Up Review (5–10 minutes): Quick review of the previous session or relevant prior knowledge.
2) Concept Introduction (10–15 minutes): Present new topic, using visuals, analogies, or real-life examples.
3) Guided Practice (20–30 minutes): Work through problems together, discussing strategies and reasoning.
4) Independent Practice (10–15 minutes): Student solves problems on their own with support as needed.
5) Wrap-Up and Questions (5–10 minutes): Summarize key takeaways, highlight common pitfalls, and assign optional practice problems.

Luis was my math tutor and he was amazing! He was so helpful when it came to helping me with my math homework. I was able to understand it fully and do good on my exam! Luis is so friendly, and funny so I would recommend him.
He was absolutely amazing helping me through the trigonometry of Calculus 2, and he helped me to completely understand greens theorem when I was struggling in Calculus 3. Very knowledgeable, but he doesn’t just give you the answer. I ended up with an A+ in both classes!
Luis is a trustworthy teacher because he was able to help me achieve an A plus in one of my math courses. I was struggling, but Luis was incredibly patient, kind, and helpful. He was able to meet my learning needs, and be so encouraging. I recommend him as a tutor to anyone because he made math fun, and most important of all, he made me be able to understand it.
Luis is an amazing tutor!! He helped me get through calculus and Physics 1 and 2 by really taking the time to explain things in depth and in a way that made sense. He breaks down tough concepts and makes them manageable and he’s always patient and encouraging. I wouldn’t have passed without his help! Can’t recommend him enough. I am planning to go into engineering so having a good understanding of these subjects was really important and Luis definitely helped me build that foundation!
