About Burak

I am a Structural Engineer with a PhD in Civil Engineering from Imperial College London and an MSc in Structural Engineering from the University of Nottingham.

My background combines both academia and industry. I have worked as a Research Fellow at the University of Warwick and the University of Aberdeen, and as a Structural Engineer at Foster + Partners. I am currently working in the UK as a Civil Structural Engineer in the nuclear sector.

Throughout my career, I have specialised in structural analysis, including nonlinear modelling, composite structures, and seismic design. I have also been actively involved in teaching and mentoring students at university level, which has helped me develop a clear and effective way of explaining complex engineering concepts.

I am passionate about helping students not only succeed in exams but also build a deep understanding of structural behaviour and real-world engineering applications.

About the lesson

I offer tailored lessons in Structural Engineering, focusing on helping students and early-career engineers develop both strong theoretical understanding and practical skills.

With a PhD in Structural Engineering from Imperial College London and professional experience in leading engineering firms, I combine academic knowledge with real-world applications. My teaching approach is clear, structured, and adapted to each student’s level and goals.

Lessons can cover:
- Structural Mechanics and Analysis
- Reinforced Concrete and Steel Design (Eurocodes)
- Nonlinear Analysis and Seismic Design
- ETABS, SAP2000, and general FEA concepts
