About Bhawani

I hold a PhD in Chemistry and have over eight years of experience teaching and mentoring students at the high school/university level. I am currently an assistant professor of Chemistry, where I work closely with students from diverse academic backgrounds and learning styles. My goal as a tutor is to make chemistry clear, logical, and manageable—especially for students who may feel intimidated by the subject. I take a structured, professional, and supportive approach to tutoring. I come prepared to each session, respect students’ time, and tailor lessons to individual needs and course requirements. I emphasize strong fundamentals, clear problem-solving strategies, and effective study techniques that students can continue using independently. My Approach to Tutoring Chemistry

Teaching Method & Techniques
My approach is concept-first and student-centered. Chemistry often feels difficult because students are asked to memorize formulas without understanding the why behind them. I focus on building strong conceptual foundations and then connecting those ideas to problem-solving techniques. I adapt my teaching style to each student’s learning pace, using clear explanations, analogies, visuals, and guided practice. I encourage questions and create a judgment-free environment where students feel comfortable working through mistakes.

Typical Lesson Structure
A typical session begins with a brief check-in to identify what the student finds most challenging and what they want to accomplish that day. We then review key concepts, followed by step-by-step problem solving together. I gradually shift responsibility to the student, ensuring they can apply the ideas independently. Each lesson ends with a summary of takeaways and strategies for studying or approaching similar problems in the future.

What Sets Me Apart
I hold a PhD in Chemistry and have extensive experience teaching college-level courses, including General Chemistry. This allows me to explain complex topics in a clear, intuitive way while also understanding how instructors design exams and assignments. I am patient, structured, and focused on helping students build confidence—not just finish homework. My goal is long-term understanding, so students become independent learners rather than reliant on tutoring.
