Why Choose Me?
I'm going to go a bit off script. Instead of listing how I am a college aged 20 year old, who carries a special love for math. If you find yourself struggling with math not only do I recognize you but I personally know what it feels like. Though I've loved math since before I could remember as much as I saw the world in numbers, angles, and measurements, shapes and more, my life was forever changed with a series of systematic failures that should've never been experienced but ultimately led to a negative year 6th grade year. One that not only took away my love for math, the confidence I had in myself, my understanding of not just the way I viewed math but also how I viewed the world. If there ever was a such thing as Second Guesser's Syndrome or Over Thinker Itis I had it my whole world was shaken up in what felt like back then the worst way possible. I often was stuck with the nagging question of how did I go from a near prodigy to a runner no worse an avoider from a subject I claimed to once love so much. Fast Forward after some time of building myself back up to the point where I not only loved math again, was confident in my choices and answers, but I gained the understanding through going through that experience and though it was traumatizing and hurtful but humbling so I could first see I wasn't the only one that had that experience but also it was also my newfound responsibility to see and help those who haven't gained the courage to conquer math as I can now approach with the grounding empathy for those that needed help, are fearful of numbers that seem so much bigger than their value, or avoided math due to the complex feelings of lacking the confidence to do what seems so simple, or just has plain trouble with math. So I say this with pride what makes my teaching style different is not that I consider myself to be a mathematician of some sort or even my experience but my ability to show and teach math with patience, empathy, an understanding of your pathway but with love as my style of teaching depends on what you need !
