About Tess

As an undergraduate student pursuing a degree in Chemical Engineering at the University of Tennessee at Knoxville, I have gained a deep understanding of the complexities of math and science. This knowledge, coupled with my almost two years of tutoring experience, has allowed me to develop a strong foundation in teaching and supporting others.

Moreover, I have also received special training in early literacy skills for children, which has allowed me to expand my teaching skills and work with a broader range of students and subjects.

My passion for teaching and helping others succeed is what motivates me to continually refine my teaching approach. I believe that every student has unique strengths and weaknesses, and it is my role as a tutor to identify these areas and develop a tailored approach that best meets their needs.

My ultimate goal is to create a supportive and engaging learning environment that fosters a love for learning in my students. With my academic background, tutoring experience, and training in early literacy skills, I am confident in my ability to help students reach their full potential and achieve academic success.

About the lesson

As a dedicated tutor, my top priority is to help my students achieve their academic goals. To accomplish this, I always start by getting to know my students on a personal level, including their strengths, weaknesses, and learning style. By understanding each student's unique needs, I can tailor my teaching approach to provide a customized learning experience that is both effective and engaging.

During our initial session, I take the time to listen to my students and ask questions to gain a deeper understanding of their goals and concerns. I encourage them to share any questions or topics they want to explore, which allows me to adapt the lesson plan to their specific needs.

Through this personalized approach, I am able to create a customized learning plan that builds on the student's existing knowledge and addresses their specific challenges. This not only helps to improve their academic performance but also increases their confidence and motivation to learn.

Overall, my approach as a tutor is centered around the student's needs and learning style. By creating a supportive and engaging learning environment, I aim to help my students achieve success and reach their full potential.
