About Lucy

Hey! I'm Lucy, and I would love to be a mentor as I really enjoy helping people achieve their goals, however big or small. There is nothing more fulfilling than helping someone unlock their true potential while witnessing their self-belief and confidence grow. Even though I'm still a student myself, I'm passionate about supporting the endeavours of others just as much as I have hope for mine. As a student, I am up-to-date with exam content and exam technique, offering support and guidance with the most recent and relevant resources. I also work with students with additional needs and I hold an Enhanced DBS.

About the lesson

> Tutors GCSE students > Academic (1:1) tutoring sessions from 45 mins - an hour > Sessions start with setting targets for the slot, e.g. understanding the topic of Bonding in GCSE Chemistry, then following through with looking at the syllabus for the specific exam board and methodically going through content, e.g. ionic, covalent, metallic, and macromolecular bonds and structures. Once the topic/area of confusion has been comprehended, past exam papers and questions can be gone through, focusing in on exam technique. The last few minutes of every session will be a summary, and to make sure the aims of the session have been met. > Very aware of additional learning needs and requirements, and I will always try my best to check in with the individual and provide a calm and supportive atmosphere with lots of patience and understanding. As a result, there can be an unlimited un-timed 'rest break' or 'stress break' in the middle of a session if needed or desired.
