About Melissa
I am a student in the second year of a Master's in Interpreting and Translation (languages: Chinese and English) and I have a degree in Linguistic Mediation (110/100 cum laude). I lived and worked 4 months in England and got a C1. I really like the English language very much, above all to make the pupils understand that even if full of exceptions, it remains really interesting; we must not focus on those but try to get a good level of conversation and be as loose as possible. You should reach that certainty that will then lead you to be able to speak in real situations where you will be in contact with native English speakers. I always learn the pupil not to get stuck and to try to speak using their own words, without fear of being judged. The pupil must love the language, not be afraid of it. Fluency and good pronunciation, the main characteristics on which I always focus.

I usually like to get to know the pupil first in order to understand what language gaps are to work on. Then I prepare lessons focusing on those and divide them as follows: one hour of grammar and one hour of conversation. When the pupil has managed to learn well and store everything he needs, then I move on to almost all practical lessons with a lot of conversation based on topics that I provide during the week by email, and on which the pupil will have to prepare. I also leave some homework to do so you don't miss the exercise. I also help prepare for Cambridge certifications (levels B1-B2). I use digital material, mainly slides that I create especially for the pupil. I also do group lessons: I bring people together according to their level so as to have a small homogeneous class.
