About Ashley
Who am I?
Habari! I’m Mwalimu Ashley from Kenya. Swahili is my first language, I grew up speaking it every day with family, at the market, and with friends.
Even though I haven’t taught in a formal classroom, I’ve been helping friends and people from other countries learn Swahili for 2+ years. So I know exactly where beginners get stuck.
Why I want to teach you:
I love watching that moment when someone says their first full Swahili sentence and their face lights up. Swahili connects people. Whether you want it for travel, work, or to talk to your Kenyan family, I want to help you feel confident and proud when you speak.
Many people think Swahili is hard. But if you know “habari” and “asante”, you’ve already started. I’ll hold your hand step by step. No stress, no boring grammar just real talk, culture, and lots of laughs.

What my lessons are like
My lessons are relaxed, friendly, and focused on real conversation. We talk a lot, we laugh, and you’ll speak Swahili from day one.
Even if you only know “habari” and “asante”, that’s enough to start. I’ll guide you step by step until you speak with confidence.
What we’ll cover:
- Basic words & everyday phrases for travel, family, and daily life
- Pronunciation — so you sound natural, not like a textbook
- Kenyan culture — because language without culture is just words
- Noun classes made easy — I break them down without the headache
My style:
No boring grammar lectures. No pressure. Just patient practice. I understand the challenges because I’ve helped friends learn Swahili for 2+ years. Mistakes are welcome here that’s how you improve.
