I am a student at the University of Edinburgh, studying Russian and Mandarin. I started tutoring online nearly 2 years ago, so have developed a strong understanding of how to get the most out of every session and get real results.

Ultimately, what happens in the sessions is the choice of the student as they will know how to get the most out of these sessions. However, as a starting point, we could begin with grammar, giving us some strong foundations for the language and enabling us to move onto putting across complex points in the clearest, most comprehensible way. Where possible, a lot of the session would be done in Russian, to allow the muscle memory to kick in and allow the student to get used to thinking on the spot. My sessions in English would depend on the level. On the whole, I would start with the best way to put your points across in an essay and then we would move onto either creative writing or deep analysis of texts, along with the best literary language to use in order to gain the top marks.
