About Maruan

Hi, I’m Maruan, a second-year Biomedical Science student at the University of Warwick. I studied Maths, Biology and Chemistry at A-Level and developed a strong interest in helping others understand challenging topics in these subjects.

I began tutoring during sixth form, supporting younger students with GCSE and A-Level material. Since then, I’ve continued helping students build confidence in subjects that can often feel overwhelming. My approach focuses on breaking down complex concepts into clear, manageable steps and adapting explanations to suit each student’s learning style.

As a current university student studying biomedical science, I regularly apply maths and scientific reasoning in my degree. This allows me to explain topics not just for exams, but in a way that helps students genuinely understand the subject.

I aim to create a supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, building confidence, and improving their academic performance.

About the lesson

My lessons are typically 60 minutes, although longer sessions can be arranged if a student wants more in-depth support or exam preparation.

Each lesson is structured to make the most of the time. We usually begin by reviewing any difficult topics or questions the student has encountered recently. I then explain the concept step by step, using clear examples to make sure the foundations are understood. After that, we work through practice questions together so the student can apply what they’ve learned and build confidence.

I tailor each lesson to the student’s needs, whether that means strengthening core understanding, preparing for exams, or improving problem-solving skills. I focus on helping students understand why things work, rather than just memorising answers, so they feel more confident tackling new questions independently.

I tutor GCSE and A-Level Maths, Biology and Chemistry, and I’m happy to adapt lessons to match the student’s exam board and current school topics.

I provide practice questions and exam-style problems during lessons.
I can also help with revision strategies and exam technique.
