About Queenie

Tutoring started as midnight sessions helping peers finish their assignments just before the deadline. Mistakes are simply data points rather than reasons for apology, which often surprises those used to stricter instruction. I hold a BMus in Jazz Guitar from the University of North Texas and have spent 12 years refining my craft.

My daily work focuses on rhythm guitar, strumming patterns, and essential blues progressions. Reading sheet music remains a foundational part of my practice along with routine instrument maintenance. I enjoy ear training as much as any technical drill because it keeps the music honest. Students who arrive feeling behind often find comfort in this straightforward approach.

About the lesson

Progress comes fastest when you stop worrying about perfection and start focusing on the actual sound. A diagnostic skills check occurs before we even think about building a formal lesson plan for your 10.0 difficulty goal.

My degree from the University of North Texas informs how I break down the blues tradition from Robert Johnson to Buddy Guy. We skip the heavy admin work to ensure the hour stays focused on playing.

Your specific goals dictate our path while I keep the vibe casual and songwriter minded. I handle both the anxious beginner and the bored advanced player by adjusting the technical demands of the material. Clarity beats complexity every time. I make sure you leave the session with something you can actually use.
