Will is a vocal coach who's studied voice for 15+ years, have taught students from aged 11-65 and works with voices from around the world in North America, Europe, Australia, etc. He teaches classical techniques but specialize in Pop/Contemporary. Frustrated with abstract & inefficient exercises (like shout "HEY YOU over there" or "Copy me!") in his beginning years as a voice student, Will went on a discovery journey and eventually found out about the importance of focusing on the science & physiology of singing (how to produce sound in a scientific way, why do certain sounds travel, where resonance/volume comes from in our body/anatomy, etc.). He believes singing is both a technical skill as well as an artistic skill. When building up clients' technique, he helps clients to target & train specific muscles, hence strengthening their voice efficiently. This generates results fast, and saves time for the client. For example, often within the first few sessions, clients have been able to immediately remove strain, produce fuller resonance, and start developing vibrato, etc.

Will also has experience working with trans voices, people with speech/hearing impairments, people who are tone-deaf, as well as, across different styles such as Pop, Classical, Indian, Arabic, Chinese traditional singing styles, etc.

About the lesson

In the beginning, lessons will be composed of theory and exercises to build up your technique. Learning singing is just like learning any other instrument!

Around 15m will be theory, explaining the science and physiology of singing and how singing technique works. Around 45m would be exercises to apply the theory so your body can internalize the knowledge. In the first session, around 10m in the beginning will be a quick assessment of your voice and singing goals so we can tailor rest of the session to your skill level and goals!

Excellent! Will gave more time than we'd agreed for an initial session, which was kind of him. He was easygoing and yet attentive, teaching me some useful theory and working me quite hard on some appropriate vocal exercises. It was a very good introductory session and I recommend you give him a try.
