About Max
My name’s Max and I’m a student at Sydney University. I’ve always had a passion for reading and writing but I understand that not everyone finds themselves in the same boat. The HSC was a stressful time for me and the rigor and the pressure eroded that passion. It took a while to build that passion back up. I want to show students that there is a way through it that isn’t all endless memorizing of quotes and theses, but you can have fun expanding your mind and writing originally about some of the great writers of English literature.

My personal approach is generally focused on structure, with a based on an appreciation of the context of studied texts and their authors. Good essay writing begins with an interesting idea to explore. One that the writer can take pride in defending. Of course the rigour of the HSC means that students do not often have the opportunity to meaningfully engage with their assigned texts. With my skills and experience, I can help students develop a style of reasoning that they can be proud of and my extensive knowledge of the assigned texts can help fill in the blanks and thus achieve their goals.
