About Shahla
Hi! I’m a young female tackling the gigging music scene in Melbourne. I’m currently studying at the Victorian College of the Arts for Jazz music, and am thoroughly enjoying playing music surrounded by amazing peers and teachers. I’m very patient and down to earth, encouraging and love to have a laugh, empathy is my biggest strength. I’ve recently done some recordings with music projects that are accessible through spotify/apple music/ band camp. My favourite genre of music is soul, but I listen to all kinds (classical, pop, blues, ballads, bebop) and love hearing how different styles influence my playing.

Tailoring each lesson to the students needs, targeting different strengths and weaknesses each lesson. I make sure a positive and safe space is created in which mistakes are explored and even encouraged, as that is how we best learn. And I anm able to explain techniques and concepts in multiple ways to ensure a thorough understanding that can benefit students. I’ve been teaching for a year now and I’ve loved seeing how much students progress and see them open up both emotionally and creatively. I am very passionate about music and cannot wait to share a bit of this journey with you.
