About Abdullah

Hello! My name is Abdullah, and I have always enjoyed Mathematics and helping others understand it. I want to teach because I believe every child can succeed when concepts are explained clearly and patiently. My goal is to make math less intimidating by creating a friendly and supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and learning from their mistakes. I enjoy seeing students gain confidence as they improve, and I am committed to helping each student build a strong foundation in Mathematics at their own pace.

About the lesson

I believe children learn Mathematics best when they can relate it to everyday situations. For younger students, I explain concepts using familiar examples such as fruits, toys, and money to make topics like counting, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and fractions easy to understand. As students progress through the grades, I introduce more structured problem-solving and encourage class discussions so that students can explain their reasoning and learn from one another. My lessons are primarily based on the Cambridge Mathematics curriculum, as it is the curriculum I am most familiar with. I can also teach students following other curricula, provided the topics are similar and do not differ significantly from the Cambridge syllabus.
Each class lasts 60 minutes. Lessons begin with a brief review of previously covered material, followed by an introduction to the day's topic using clear explanations and practical examples. Students then work through guided exercises and class activities before completing practice questions to reinforce what they have learned. Time is also set aside to answer questions and address any areas of difficulty.
I have experience as a Chemistry Laboratory Teaching Assistant, where I guided students through practical work, explained scientific concepts, and helped create a positive learning environment. This experience strengthened my ability to communicate clearly, manage a classroom, and support students with different learning needs.
My classes are suitable for students in Grades 1 to 6. Whether students are learning a topic for the first time, preparing for school assessments, or strengthening their understanding of mathematics, I aim to create an engaging, supportive classroom where every student is encouraged to participate, ask questions, and build confidence in their mathematical abilities.
