About Thomas-William

I have successfully taught all subjects I am offering up to and including A Level and have tutored for the past 11 years. I have experience with AQA, OCR, Edexcel, and Eduqas. As an experienced senior leader I have coached and mentored new and experienced teachers.

Skilled in differentiating learning, my student-centred approach ensures all students make progress.

The application of science and lifelong learning are two things I am completely passionate about. I am currently undertaking research at Durham University into black holes, taking a break from my previous role as second to the Principal in a Secondary School. This area of astrophysics incorporates a wide variety of areas of learning from the national curriculum which enables me to use my research to enrich the student experience.

About the lesson

I cater for all ages and abilities by differentiating learning to suit the individuals' needs.

Initially, I breakdown areas of study in to a personalised plan for the student. Questions they have previously been unsuccessful in answering are useful to help identify areas they need to improve.

During sessions we discuss their understanding and then complete problems together. They then consolidate their understanding by talking me through a problem. I would give them some examples to complete independently ready for the next session.
