About Marie
Diction and articulation often feel like mysteries until you realize they are just physical habits you can reshape. I have a small, honest confession that I did not fully understand how my own vocal cords functioned until I pursued my BM at UBC. Now, I specialize in helping advanced learners, absolute beginners, and kids navigate everything from genre styling to stage fear management.
My work draws on 13 years of experience to help you find stability in your vibrato control and pitch control. It is important to me that you understand the mechanics of your instrument to ensure long-term vocal health and care. Most of my students find that once they understand the biology of their voice, the artistic choices follow quite naturally. I am here to help you navigate this terrain.

Stepping into your first session might feel slightly overwhelming, but I often find that students relax once we start the initial breathing warm-ups. A small, honest confession is that I used to struggle with stage fear myself, so I truly understand the physical sensations that come with performance anxiety.
We will focus on practical microphone technique and harmony singing during our time together, using the same foundation I gained during my degree at UBC. You will receive free access to my breathing and warm-up exercise notes to guide your daily practice outside of our meetings. I structure these sessions to be as supportive and energetic as possible while we work through your repertoire. We will move at a pace that respects your process.
