About Bemnet
I’m a second‑year Human Biology and Psychology student at the University of Toronto with over five years of experience tutoring children from Kindergarten to Grade 6 in math and literacy. Working with students of all learning styles has taught me that patience, encouragement, and clear explanations are key to helping children succeed.
I break down challenging concepts into simple, manageable steps and create lessons that feel comfortable, engaging, and confidence‑building. As a Life Sciences student with a strong academic record, I bring effective study strategies and a solid understanding of how to approach complex material which are skills I love sharing with my students.
Watching a child go from unsure to confidently solving problems on their own is what makes tutoring so rewarding for me. My goal is to create a positive learning environment where students feel supported, capable, and excited to learn!

Hi! My name is Bemnet, and I’m a second‑year Human Biology and Psychology student in the Life Sciences program at the University of Toronto. I offer one‑on‑one tutoring in K–12 Mathematics and High School Chemistry.
I know these subjects can feel challenging, and my goal is to help students break down difficult topics, strengthen their understanding, and build genuine confidence. I tailor every lesson to each student’s needs, whether they’re catching up, preparing for tests, reinforcing foundational skills, or looking for an extra challenge.
During sessions, I identify areas where the student needs support, then guide them through concepts step by step using clear explanations, examples, and practice questions. I focus on helping students understand why things work, not just memorizing steps. Above all, I create a comfortable, encouraging environment where students feel confident asking questions and learning from mistakes.
I’m committed to helping students reach their full academic potential and feel proud of their progress.
