About Heather
I hold a First-Class degree in Biomedical Science and am currently completing my Master’s in Infection and Immunity, which keeps my knowledge current and relevant. While I’m new to formal tutoring, I’ve gained experience supporting students through volunteering in college, where I helped peers understand complex topics and prepare for exams — something I found incredibly rewarding. My aim is to make science engaging, accessible, and even enjoyable for every student I work with.

My tutoring style is supportive, structured, and tailored to each student’s needs. I focus on helping students truly understand the “why” behind scientific concepts rather than just memorising facts. During lessons, I use clear explanations, visual aids, and step-by-step problem solving to build confidence and independent thinking. I also encourage questions and active discussion — I believe that the best learning happens when students feel comfortable exploring ideas. A typical lesson lasts about an hour, though I adjust the pace depending on the topic and the student’s goals. My lessons are suitable for GCSE and A-Level students (generally ages 10–18), especially those studying Biology, Chemistry, or Combined Science.
