About Himal
I am a practicing Surgical Intensive Care Doctor at the National Hospital of Sri Lanka, Colombo - which is the final-referral center in the country. I deal with advanced life and organ support care in the peri-operative period for complex elective and emergency patients, including organ transplant recipients. I graduated with MBBS Honours from the University of Colombo, Sri Lanka in 2020 and completed by medical internship in General Surgery and Internal Medicine. I am fluent in English (IELTS Band 8.0, TOEFL 110/120).

I have more than 2 years' experience in the clinical training of medical students. My method of teaching includes guidance, active learning and complexity science, which encourages students to apply their knowledge in specific clinical problems. My lessons are ideal for clinical-year medical students, most especially for final-years awaiting exams. A typical lesson will last less than an hour and cover an emergency clinical scenario and how to approach and solve it with confidence.
