About Maria

I am a recently graduated high school student from Reddam House Sydney who is a dedicated and supportive tutor. I have experience across multiple tutoring organisations, where I have helped students across a range of year levels, particularly in mathematics and science. In Year 11, I completed HSC accelerated Mathematics Advanced and achieved a Band 6 and in Year 12, I studied English Advanced, Mathematics Extension 1, Mathematics Extension 2, Chemistry and Physics. In 2025, I also achieved the 95th percentile in the LAT (Law Admission Test), reflecting my strong analytical and reasoning skills. These experiences developed my problem-solving ability and understanding of complex concepts, skills which I now would like to pass on to my students. I genuinely enjoy tutoring because I love seeing students grow in confidence and begin to believe in their own ability. I understand how overwhelming school can feel, especially in senior years and I find it incredibly rewarding to help students move from feeling stuck to feeling capable and confident. My approach is patient, structured and encouraging, focusing on building understanding from the ground up.

About the lesson

My lessons are tailored to each student’s needs and learning style, whether you prefer step-by-step explanations or practising questions. Each session is structured to help students build understanding, solve problems confidently and develop long-term skills, rather than just memorising methods.
Typically, lessons last 60–90 minutes, giving time to review previous material, introduce new concepts, work through guided practice and complete independent problem-solving, followed by a short recap to consolidate learning. I can also provide summary notes and practice questions and recommend textbooks or online resources where appropriate to support learning outside of lessons.
My lessons are suitable for primary and high school students, including those who need general help or preparing for exams such as NAPLAN or HSC Mathematics, Chemistry and Physics courses. I focus on helping students break down challenging topics into manageable steps and develop problem-solving strategies, all while fostering a supportive and encouraging learning environment.
