About Lily
As a guitar tutor with Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Music, I aim to help students not only master the instrument but also find their unique musical voice. My lessons combine technical instruction with artistic exploration, allowing learners to develop both skill and creativity. I begin with essential techniques such as finger placement, chord transitions, strumming, rhythm, and tone control, gradually introducing improvisation, phrasing, and composition. Music theory is incorporated seamlessly, so students understand the structure behind the music they create. Each lesson is tailored to the student’s individual goals, pace, and style, fostering a sense of ownership and personal expression. I encourage students to experiment with different genres—from classical and jazz to rock and contemporary styles—expanding their musical vocabulary. Lessons include ear training, sight-reading, and performance techniques, ensuring well-rounded development. I provide constructive feedback, personalized practice strategies, and guidance to overcome technical challenges. I emphasize patience, discipline, and joy, helping students enjoy the learning process while achieving steady progress. My teaching inspires confidence, creativity, and self-expression through music. I provide personal feedback to ensure consistent improvement. Students are encouraged to experiment with their own playing style. By integrating improvisation and songwriting elements, lessons stay fun and dynamic. Over time, you’ll gain fluency, confidence, and a deeper appreciation for the art of guitar playing.
