About Hong

I achieved an ATAR above 95 and hold a Bachelor of Secondary Teaching with a strong academic foundation in mathematics and psychology. In addition to my studies and tutoring work, I am currently involved in academic research and learning under the guidance of a mathematics professor at the National University of Singapore (NUS). This experience strengthens my analytical depth, academic discipline, and exposure to advanced mathematical thinking. I am passionate about combining strong academic standards with clear, structured teaching to help students achieve consistent improvement.

About Lessons
My lessons are structured to directly address common challenges faced by Australian students in Years 7–12 Mathematics.
I help students:
• Strengthen foundational skills in algebra, fractions, equations, and problem-solving
• Improve confidence when handling worded and multi-step questions
• Prepare effectively for school tests, assessments, and NAPLAN-style exams
• Close learning gaps caused by missed concepts or fast-paced classrooms
• Reduce exam anxiety through structured practice and clear solution methods
• Develop independent thinking instead of relying on memorization
Each lesson includes guided step-by-step problem solving, targeted error correction, and regular feedback to track progress. I support both in-school coursework and extension learning for high-achieving students, including advanced exercises and competition-style questions.
My goal is to improve not only grades, but consistency, confidence, and long-term mathematic skills.
I am committed to providing a long-term learning plan for students, including preparation for future overseas study pathways and participation in international mathematics competitions.
