I have taken erhu lessons with Xin for 10 months. She pays very close attention during the lesson and gives great feedback. For example she watches the position and movement of the bow, fingering, and issues with rhythm and pitch. Her feedback is clear and helps me improve quickly. When I started I knew piano but had never played a bowed instrument before, and I can now play nice sounding pieces. Xin is a very advanced musician and gives details about how to adjust accidentals and techniques depending on the regional style of a piece. I highly recommend her as an erhu teacher.

Xin is an extremely diligent and caring erhu teacher. She is very patient and it has been very rewarding to go from a total beginner and only making really squeaky sounds to being able to play some melodies. She is good at balancing between making sure you're moving through new drills so it doesn't get boring, but also making sure you improve your technique and tone. I have done both in person and virtual lessons with her and would recommend her for both.
